If you have ever thought of a day trip or a weekend getaway, for an amazing experience then a short drive up the R27 for approx 150kms is sure to draw your attention.

Just outside Cape Town up the West Coast you will stumble upon a seaside village stooped in history and still living in the era of tranquillity and humility.

The modern day village, with restaurants and Accommodation establishments aplenty , has a ship wreck to thank for its founding and subsequent development over the centuries. The small local community, who make their living from the rich Atlantic sea, start out each day by preparing for sea and returning with their good catches in the afternoon. This cycle of events helps keep the many local restaurants stocked with fresh produce for the many travelling guests throughout the year.

The small town population balloons during the summer and traditional holiday months as many a visitor has spread the word that Paternoster is a true gem with a heart of good folk and great atmosphere.
Not only does Paternoster sport flamboyant little Cape Dutch styled fishing cottages for hire, there is also the famed Paternoster hotel and others to chose from when seeking a place to stay- there are plenty of options so whatever your budget my reveal there will be an option for you.

The area surrounding Paternoster is steadfast in providing exciting and adventurous outdoor activities for the young and the old. The indigenous flowers along the coast provide great viewings and an "out of this world" experience – one day the fields are brownish green and during the next few days the country side is transformed into a carpet of spectacular colours. The viewings are during the months of July to September- so book your accommodation well in advance in order to escape  the disappointment of a 'Full House' caption.

The countryside lends itself to outdoor hiking ,ruggerd trail walks, mountain biking, surfing, beach relaxing, Ocean swimming, diving, Ocean kayaking and boat trips. Cultural experiences are unlimited to the famed pottery studio, the West coast fossil park and the Cape Columbine lighthouse.

The Ocean catch is brought in every day and is prepared in all the restaurants + are some of the most delicious and scrumptious seafood meals ever made.

If its long white beaches you seek - look no further-  they offer a peaceful existence to the wildlife and a tranquil uninhibited rest to any visitor and traveller.
